How To Apply Beard Oil
Putting your newly-purchased beard oil to good use couldn't be easier. Apply beard oil and beat the dreaded beard dandruff in 4 easy steps:
Wash your beard - preferably with a beard shampoo, two or three times a week (here's why not every day).
Towel-dry - or use a hairdryer on a low-heat setting. Damp or dry, it doesn't matter to the oil.
Apply beard oil - rub a few drops between your hands and work it into your beard hair and the skin underneath.
Use a beard brush - this will help to distribute the beard oil evenly, while exfoliating skin underneath.
How much? For his 3-inch beard, Alex uses roughly four to six drops, twice a day. His rule of thumb: if it hasn't absorbed within 20 minutes, you've used too much.

Start with a lighter scent. Of ours, that's El Presidente. Whatever you buy, patch test first: put a little on a visible patch of skin, wait, then try your beard. Our oils contain sweet almond oil, a tree nut, so if you're allergic to almonds, don't use them. If you have a different nut allergy, check the full ingredient list with your allergy specialist first.
Is expensive beard oil worth it?
Mostly you're paying for the fragrance. Tom Ford, Le Labo and Acqua di Parma come from fine-fragrance houses, so if scent is your thing they're a treat. The oils underneath (grapeseed, sweet almond, jojoba) are the same kinds you'll find in a £10 to £20 bottle.
