Beard Shampoo

Beard shampoo is a wash built for facial hair and the skin underneath it. Head shampoo strips oil hard, which is exactly what a beard doesn't need. The question everyone asks

Can you just use normal shampoo on your beard?

You can, but it's the wrong tool for the job.

Head shampoo is formulated for scalp skin and designed to strip oil hard — which is fine up top, and rough on a beard.

A beard wash gently cleanses, removing dirt, dead skin cells and debris, without stripping your skin of its natural oils. The result is a clean, healthy-feeling beard that's free from itching, dryness and flaking.

Three jobs, one bottle

Why one wash for beard, hair and body

Because if it's gentle enough for your face, it's more than gentle enough for everything else. We formulated this around beard hair and facial skin first — the most sensitive brief in the range — which is what makes it work just as well on your head and body.

It's one bottle instead of three in the shower, and a single scent instead of three fighting each other.

Four steps, no ceremony

How to use it

  1. 1

    Jump in the shower.

  2. 2

Apply to beard, hair and body.

  3. 3

    Soap it up.

    Wash it out.

Then

Follow with the matching conditioner, then work beard oil through a towel-dried or blow-dried beard.

Beard washing questions

How often should I wash my beard?

Less often than the hair on your head. Two or three times a week suits most beards — enough to keep the skin underneath clean, not so much that you're stripping it dry. Daily is usually too much, unless you work a manual job or do intense exercise every day.

Is beard shampoo actually worth it?

If you're washing your beard with head shampoo or shower gel and it feels dry, brittle or itchy afterwards, yes. That's the formula doing what it was built to do — strip oil — on hair and skin that need to keep some.

Can I use it on my head and body too?

Absolutely — we've formulated it just for this. One bottle, one scent, three jobs.

Do I need conditioner as well?

It's the natural next step. Wash cleans; conditioner puts the moisture back and softens. The two are formulated as a pair and share the same scents.

Will it dry my skin out?

It's built not to. Sodium lactate and green tea leaf extract are in there specifically to keep moisture in the skin and calm irritation rather than strip it.

How much is it, and what if it's not for me?

£18 for either scent, covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee.
