CBD beard oil

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is the latest thing in the health and wellness industry, and it's going to both blow your mind and boost your beard.

CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. It’s been used for a whole range of health problems; some use it for pain relief of chronic health conditions and treating anxiety, while others even tout its benefits for relieving symptoms of cancer (although we can’t confirm any of these claims).

Now, this isn't the compound in cannabis that gets you high, but actually is an abbreviation for cannabidiol – a non-psychoactive component of the plant with a whole host of health benefits.

You have probably heard of hemp oil, and already use it on your glorious beard, but there are some key differences between CBD and hemp oil that you need to know. Let’s jump into it.

Is CBD Oil the Same as Hemp Oil?

CBD oil and hemp are both extracts of the cannabis plant, so how different can they possibly be?

As it turns out, pretty damn different.

Both are rich in healthy fats and have amazing moisturizing properties, and both may make you fail a drug test if consumed, but this is where the similarities end.

Hemp oil is made from the seeds of the plant and contains very few cannabinoids.

CBD oil, on the other hand, is made from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the plant and is very rich in the very compounds the plant is famous for.

The CBD is extracted using compressed carbon dioxide and mixed with medium-chain triglycerides to keep all those cannabinoids nice and fresh.

CBD oil is an amazing multi-tasker and boasts a truly massive amount of wellness benefits not just limited to your grooming regime.

This brings us straight to the next topic.

How CBD Oil Works

The naturally occurring CBD compound interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, or “ECS”.

The ECS is a beautifully complex system that plays important roles in the regulation of a variety of the body’s homeostatic processes.

The word “homeostasis” comes from the two Greek words for “same” and “steady” – in essence, the way in which your body regulates itself to achieve optimal health and wellness.

So, speaking of all things Greek, if you want a beard that can rival that of a Greek God, then you’re probably wondering about CBD oil’s effects on your beard.

First of all, our skin is loaded with endocannabinoid receptors that respond to the application of CBD oil.

When applied to your beard and skin, those receptors help to promote the growth of new hair, stimulate blood flow and treat inflammation.

Pretty cool right? But that’s not all.

CBD beard oil contains naturally occurring fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants, not only giving you hydrated and healthier skin, but also supplying your beard with everything it needs to feel happy and loved again.

Types of CBD Oils

Just like beards, CBD oils come in a few different varieties and forms, all illustrious and fascinating in their own way – so let’s jump in and take a look.

First off, there’s CBD isolate.

This type of CBD oil is pretty much what it sounds like – it’s pure unadulterated CBD living in isolation from the other compounds in the cannabis plant.

Then there is full-spectrum CBD oil. As you may have guessed from the name, it contains all the cannabinoids extracted from the plant, including THC.

But don’t get too excited – there’s not enough there to get you high. It does, however, interact wonderfully together, kind of like ZZ Top.

Last but not least is broad-spectrum CBD oil.

This one is like a lumberjack beard that’s had a bit of a trim but still retains its natural beauty. All the compounds are still there, but with one important difference – no THC.

Application and Use of CBD Oil

Sourcing high-quality oil is super important if you want all the wonderful benefits you have learned about so far.

If you want amazing beard hair, you’re going to need some amazing CBD oil, too.

Look for premium CBD beard oil that’s derived from high-quality, organic cannabis – this ensures the oil is free from contaminants and pesticides.

Next, ensure the extraction method is compressed CO2 – it’s the gold standard for CBD isolates and preserves the full spectrum of cannabinoids.

Finally, check out the stuff that’s in it – high-quality CBD beard oil should contain all-natural ingredients and a carrier like argan oil that’s great for both you and your beard.

Got your oil sorted? Let’s move on to how to get it on your face.

Dilute your CBD oil

CBD oil is pretty strong stuff in its pure form. It’s also quite expensive, so it’s recommended to dilute it 1-3% with a carrier oil before use.

Step 1. Add between 10 and 15 drops of the CBD beard oil into a glass jar.

Step 2. Next, add six teaspoons of the carrier such as jojoba oil into the jar. You can also add some essential oils, or vitamin E for some extra goodness.

Step 3. Finally, mix the two oils together thoroughly until combined.

Get it on your face

Once you have your beard oil, it’s time to get down to business.

But first, the question of how much to use – well, this depends largely on your beard length.

Too much oil will leave your beard hair and your skin won’t be able to absorb enough of the CBD to make it effective.

Too little and you won’t see the benefits of the oil. Check out the guidelines below on how much to use:

Short beard - A few drops (no more than 3)

Medium-length beard - 4-5 drops

Long beard - 6 or more drops

Once you have sorted out how much to use, you can apply the oil just like any other beard oil. Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1. Start off with a clean beard, use a beard wash or warm water, and then pat your beard dry. If your facial hair is long and luscious, use a hair dryer on a low heat setting.

Step 2. Warm the beard oil between your fingers and palms. Then, massage it gently into your beard, making sure to work it all the way down to the roots, you want to get it right into the hair follicles and chin.

If you’re feeling fancy – or just don’t want to make your hands oily, use a boar bristle brush (just like this one).

For best results, apply the oil about 1 to 2 times a day for a dry beard, and about 4-5 times a week for a normal or greasy beard.

Safety Considerations

While CBD oil is generally considered natural and safe, with any supplement or product there are some things to keep in mind.

Drug interactions

CBD oil can interact with certain medications.

If you’re taking any medications, it’s always best to talk with your doctor before using CBD oil on your beard.

Side effects to look out for

CBD products are generally tolerated well by most people.

However, as with any new product, there can be some unexpected irritation or allergic reactions, especially if you have sensitive skin underneath.

For this reason, it’s best to patch-test just the right amount of CBD oil on a visible area of skin before applying CBD oil.

Look for any signs of irritation or sensations of burning, or dry skin.

Upon noticing any bad reactions, immediately stop using the CBD oil.

If you haven’t had reactions to carrier oils in the past, you can still use high-quality beard oil, or beard balm to achieve fantastic results.

Conclusion

So there you have it, folks. The benefits of using CBD oil in your beard are endless. Whether you're looking to soothe irritation, promote soft hair growth, moisturize follicles, soften the skin beneath, or just smell really good, CBD oil has got you covered. Now go out and show the world what a well-oiled machine you can be!
